Join us for an engaging workshop where community meets creativity! Reflect on your personal connection to this vibrant neighborhood and the pivotal role of the North Portland Library as a resource and hub for the community. Under the guidance and encouragement of The Poet Lady Rose, you'll learn the building blocks of poetic verse and craft a unique poem inspired by themes of resilience, optimism, the future, and the enduring spirit of the area.
This interactive workshop is open to adult poets of all levels, and participants will have the opportunity to showcase their original work through performance or display during the North Portland Library's reopening celebration. To ensure the workshop is a meaningful, authentic expression of the community, participants should have a strong connection to North/Northeast Portland. Don't miss this chance to use the power of poetry to honor your community and be part of a special celebration.
Registration required. NOTE: this is at KENTON LIBRARY (8226 N Denver 97217) in advance of the opening of North Portland Library.
